NEW CLASS OFFERING - Inktense Applique - It's NOT Intense!​

 

Come to class and play with Derwent Inktense Pencils to create your background and appliqués to make either Inktense Plumeria or Inktense Iris. Both of these projects can be personalized with your color choices and I will bring examples of other color combinations for your inspiration. After a morning of playing with color, I will get you stitching using a buttonhole stitch, stem stitch, and French knots. Complete kits are available for this class that allow participants to bring only their kit fee, scissors, and optional thimble to class.

Bamboo Felt Applique - Oh So Soft and Oh So Fun!

​

This class allows you to explore the fun of working with bamboo felt and embroidery stitches utilizing the pattern of your choice from the category "Bamboo Felt and Wool Friendly" patterns on my website.  This is a great class or workshop option since you may pick a small project like a pincushion where you can just dip your toes into the techniques for beginners or those that have not worked with bamboo felt before.  But, if your group wants to go further with exploring more stitches they can pick a project that includes a wider variety of stitches and is a bit larger project.

Applique Elements Class 1

​

This is a technique class where you learn the basics of fusible applique, buttonhole stitch, stem stitch, and ladder stitch along with seeing how to "birth" a quilt instead of using a binding to finish it off.  After learning these techniques, you will be able to choose one of my simpler patterns and be able to confidently start your new project.

Applique Elements Class 2

​

This technique class is for those that already have mastered the beginning elements of fusible applique but want to go further by learning how to make 3D elements for their quilts, learn yo-yo making and the traditional applique stitch to attach them to your quilt, work with multi-layer appliques, and explore more advanced embroidery stitches used in my patterns.  After this class you will be ready to start any of my patterns with confidence.
